In this track you will visit the Teacher Training School of University of Jyväskylä, which also serves as a basic education school. You will learn how the basic education system in Finland works, how different tools and facilities are creatively used in teaching, and how teacher training is tightly woven into the everyday life of an actual school environment. Lunch and coffee are also included in the track.
In Finland basic education encompasses nine years and caters for all those between 7 and 16 years. Schools do not select their students; every student is allocated a place in a nearby school. Parents can of course choose another school with some restrictions.
