Raimo Vuorinen works as Project Manager at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research (FIER) at the University of Jyväskylä. The research team in FIER has a designated task force from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture to conduct research which informs national policy making in lifelong guidance. His research interest is on evidence based lifelong guidance policy development as well as on the use of ICT in guidance.
2007-2015 Vuorinen was the Coordinator of the European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network (ELGPN), which assisted the European Union Member States and the Commission in moving European cooperation on lifelong guidance forward in both education and employment sectors. Vuorinen is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences School of Social Sciences, Gimli University of Iceland, and Affiliate Professor with the Faculty of Education and the Centre for Labour Studies at University of Malta, to name a few. Additionally, he is a Board member of the International Centre for Career Development and Public Policies (ICCDPP), and between 2011-2019 he served as Executive Board member and Vice-President of the International Association for Vocational and Educational Guidance (IAEVG).
